A downloadable game for Windows

Chicago, 1925. Prohibition is in full effect, yet the the country is drinking more than ever.

In Speak Easy, you play as Ruth, the owner of an illicit speakeasy called The Straight and Narrow. Using a physics-based bartending system, pour, measure, shake, and serve drinks true to the time, as you converse with customers and get a glimpse into their lives.

Experience Ruth's own story as she faces the ever-present threat of a police crackdown, and the pressure of a dangerous mob boss. With the speakeasy on the line, Ruth has to balance her links to both sides of the law.

This is a second year student game developed over 8 months from Shots On Sunday, a passionate team of 10. We hope you enjoy.

You all did a great job! :D

Gotta be honest, I didn't find myself enjoying this game (felt like work). But there's no denying you have executed a very original concept brilliantly through a series of innovative game mechanics. Bravo!

It's a pretty niche game and definitely won't be to everyone's tastes! That said, thank you very much for the feedback, it's greatly appreciated and we're really glad to hear you feel the concept sticks out.

i personally like games that feel like work, but you should add funny outcomes to bad drinks and a "creative mode" to make your own drinks, haven't played yet but those are ideas just from reading the description gonna play and give a final assessment in a day or so

Very impressed with how natural the feeling of mixing drinks and holding a conversation is in this game, really nails the intended experience. Good work!

Thank you very much! That's exactly the kind of feedback we were hoping to hear :) Very glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Just finished this, enjoyed it a lot! I would have loved for the characters to have been built up a bit more (particularly our protagonist) but the narrative was really quite impactful. Decent stressful gameplay as well, though I eventually found myself pouring and chatting just like bartenders actually do. Great job. :)

Thank you very much for the feedback! We're really glad to hear that you enjoyed the game, and if we attempt something like this again, we'll definitely keep your feedback in mind :)
